Call-For-Entry Details
The Copperprint is pleased to announce our call-for-entry An Autumn Waltz online-exhibit* aiming to capture the beauty, diversity and transformation of the natural world from autumnal to wintery months, the Autumn Waltz project is a call for photographers to showcase their individual styles and creative interpretations of the season.
*NOTE: Participants who receive awards will be displayed in our on-site Inaugural Exhibit. (Dates TBA 2024Q2)
Who is Eligible
A photographer’s response to the changing seasons, the nuances of nature and the unique opportunities that autumn and winter have to offer is invited. The invitation is diverse; all positions, cultural backgrounds, genders and ages are welcomed. We invite a mix of experienced and emerging visual storytellers to submit their work.
What is Accepted
We encourage contestants to explore and to deeply investigate themes related to the natural world using color or black & white mediums; the alteration and activity of the four classical elements of fire, water, earth and air, the majestic beauty of traditional and modern landscapes and life, the exchange of energy between land and sky, the behavior and interaction between plants, trees, animals and human activities – within the realm of An Autumn Waltz.
When is The Call & Exhibit
An Autumn Waltz is open for submissions until Monday, October 30, 2023 and participants should submit up to five works on their respective theme. All submissions will be reviewed by an independent panel of international photography professionals, who will carefully evaluate each individual project and subsequently shortlist one image each from 10 contestants for a online-exhibit on The Copperprint website, and will remain accessible indefinitely, starting Friday, December 1, 2023. Best-of-Show winners will be announced near the close of the exhibition, with the corresponding prizes listed below for the three projects including featured artist page in our esteemed artist directory.
How to Apply to This Call
Those considering participation in the call-for-entry will be hard-pressed to find an ideal habitat for their photographs better than at The Copperprint. Not only does the space provide a prestigious setting, its versatility offers prospective applicants the opportunity to employ a variety of approaches between the aesthetics and conceptual.
The Copperprint acknowledges the importance of providing an avenue for photographers to show their work to the public. This call-for-entry is a way for photographers to present their personal style on this expansive topic in a professional setting. To apply, photographers must fill out the official application on the Copperprint website. The submission period will be open until Monday, October 30, 2023.
Online submission and fees are being handled ONLY by The Copperprint using Stripe. When the call is open, an apply button to submit your images will become available on this page. The Copperprint submission process and uploading of your images is simple and easy to use. Cost is $35 US for upto 5 images. If you wish to submit more images that are related to this call's theme, you may apply again for as many times as you like at the same fee of $35 US per 5 images. There is no limit to the number of submissions.
If you are accepted as a participant for exhibition, you will receive a 'Notification of Acceptance' email from The Copperprint with farther instructions that will include a link to a form requesting additional information; e.g. artist statement, bio, website and social account links, etc. -- this additional information will help us market & promote you and your images on our website as well as various social media accounts, collaborators, and stakeholders alike.

Promoted Group Exhibition
All selected artworks will be paid-promoted as a group for a duration of one full month from Friday, December 1, 2023 to Saturday, December 30, 2023 and the online-exhibit will remain accessible indefinitely for search engine indexing and discovery to all.
Peer Juried
The Best of Show awards will be given at four levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Entrants accepted into this online-exhibit will have their works rated by an anonymous survey emailed out to all accepted participants by means of a star-rating system.
As an esteemed judge of this Call for Entry, you will have the exclusive honor and privilege of selecting the winners of this hosted photography event. The winning entries will be announced in a Virtual Awards Ceremony around Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Chris Byrne is a US-based landscape photographer based in West Linn, Oregon. He is known for his dramatic and evocative images of nature, which have been featured in magazines, books, and exhibitions around the world.
Byrne began his photography journey in 2007, when he bought his first DSLR camera. He quickly fell in love with the art of capturing the natural world, and began spending his weekends exploring the forests, mountains, and coastlines of Oregon. In 2012, Byrne decided to pursue photography full-time. He began offering photography workshops and tours, and his work began to gain recognition in the international photography community. He has since won numerous awards, including the Epson Pano Award and the International Landscape Photographer of the Year.
Byrne’s photographs are characterized by their use of light, color, and composition to create stunning and immersive images. He is particularly skilled at capturing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and his work often features dramatic skies, lush forests, and towering mountains.
In addition to his photography, Byrne is also a passionate educator. He believes that everyone has the potential to create beautiful photographs, and he enjoys sharing his knowledge and skills with others. He offers workshops and tours for photographers of all levels, and he is always available to answer questions and provide guidance.
Byrne is a true master of landscape photography. His work is both technically and artistically superb, and it has inspired and captivated people around the world. He is a role model for aspiring photographers, and he continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with this medium.
In addition to his experiences, Chris Byrne is a well-respected member of the photography community and he is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, and the Oregon Camera Club. He is also a frequent speaker at photography workshops and events.
We believe that Chris Byrne would make a great guest juror for a call for entry. He is a talented photographer with a deep understanding of the art form. He is also fair, objective, and approachable. I am confident that he would select the best entries for the show and provide valuable feedback to the entrants.
