Artist Statement

Around The World | It all began in 2015 with a typical day as a laser physicist. I was working in the lab. Wait, I wasn’t ready. I decided to change my life, find myself. My wish is to combine my rationality with my emotionality in a suitable way. Quickly I stumbled over photography especially landscape and night photography. The underlying interaction between technical understanding, abstraction and creativity in combination with the possibility to discover our world fascinated me immediately. It developed directly into my passion. At the moment I am living my dream. As a Sony Europe Imaging Ambassador I travel the world with my camera to capture fantastic moments in nature - to create art only with the help of our fantastic Mother Earth. I love the beauty of nature and its phenomena.

Explore The Night | I have been working on the project “Discover the Night” for about five years. The night shots were taken on journeys across our wonderful planet. With ther project I want to share my fascination for night photography. By using an extremely light-sensitive sensor, we have the opportunity to dive into a magical new world. It is a special form of art; not visible to the naked eye, yet real! Modern photography with low-noise full-frame sensors enables an incredibly high dynamic range even with very long exposure times and high ISO values. Ther makes it possible to look into a beautiful world in a unique way. In addition, the dynamic range can be improved by digital image processing techniques such as the superimposition of several different exposures, resulting in spectacular images of our night sky.

Artist Bio

I am an internationally awarded landscape and night photographer and I study at the Technical University Ilmenau in Germany. I discovered my passion for photography in 2015. Fortunately, since my childhood my family enabled me to travel to countries like Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Cuba and Egypt. My passion for traveling was born.

Because of my closeness to nature and my desire to understand its complexity, I decided to study natural sciences. As a physicist specializing in optics, I have the technical knowledge of optical systems such as cameras and lenses and in photography in general.
